  • General
    • Maintain detailed knowledge of all relevant SAP modules and assist and provide guidance to other users when necessary.
    • Provide back-up assistance within the finance department and cover for absences as required
    • Drive mitigation of key risks
    • Educate management team and other key plant personnel on financials
    • Ensure that  information is timely, accurate, relevant and reliable
    • Ensure the accurate and timely input of all journal entries, allocations and adjustment required during the month end process to ensure that all plant data is accurate
    • Advise on plant initiatives and performance and scrutinize reported results, forecasts and business plans.
    • Lead the plant  budgeting process
    • Ensure compliance with company’s control framework
    • Detailed analytics of cost per tones and key operational and financial metrics
    • Develop methodologies and processes to improve Plant forecast accuracy
    • Ensure working capital is at the lowest practical levels
    • Plan and Manage Capex (for plant capex): Preparing Capital Project List & MPRF; Prepare capex budget proposals for plant investments. Conduct project audits to ensure deliverables are met.
    • Prepare Budgets: Prepare plant budgets; Validate plant budget with Plant Manager; Update SAP
    • Forecasting: Manage and maintain ongoing plant forecast taking into account current and projected business and operational conditions
    • Inventory: Perform Inventory Counts - Supervise physical stock takes, reconcile and adjust book values as necessary in conjunction with Financial Accounting Manager
    • Standard costing: Budget the plant costs and establish cost standards and Bill of Materials and maintain as required; Analyse and report on production cost variances and recoveries.
    • Project Accounting (for plant projects): Complete capex business cases and approval requests; Apply costs - review project costs that are applied; Perform Project Costs Audit;
    • Fixed Assets (for plant assets): Maintain asset master data for plant assets; Perform physical asset check; Manage WIP, capitalization, depreciation and asset disposal processes within the plant.
    • Perform closing: Inventory valuation - physical inventory check; - Check content of payroll interface for the relevant plant; Verify plant information is up to date and in SAP e.g. energy usage, batch materials, payroll; Post plant specific manual journal entries for accruals and provisions e.g. rates, energy; Run Cost / Overhead Allocation – calculate overheads and variances; Run Preliminary Reports – P&L, B/S for the plant; Perform Report Analysis for content of plant reports including  variance analysis
    • Maintain effective internal controls systems and procedures in accordance to company policy.
    • Quarterly Control Self-Assessment sign-off
    • Monthly Key Account Template - Monthly Sign Off and review
    • Year End External Audit - Co-ordination.
    • Internal Audit - Tri Annual - Co-ordination
    • Monthly GRIR review and reconciliation
    • Review monthly payroll and complete sign-off
    • Complete monthly reconciliation for thermocouple inventory
Job Requirements    
  • Degree qualification in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent SAP
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a SAP environment an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with people at all levels of the business hierarchy (internally & externally)
  • Integrity
  • Team work & organizational savvy
