Position

PACKAGING SPECIALIST – QUALITY COMPLIANCE TEAM

Main responsibilities:

• In close collaboration with the business development teams, suppliers and Packaging solution engineer (IKEA of Sweden) implement new and improved packaging solutions and handling material to achieve sustainable packaging with right quality, at lowest total cost for IKEA.
• Support business development teams with specialist knowledge regarding packaging requirement and follow up implementation of agreed activities for the Categories in respective Purchase Operations Area.
• Support implementation of packaging working methods throughout the categories, suppliers and IKEA Supply Chain.
• Verify Compliance to IKEA Packaging Standard and Specification.
• Secure packaging competence in the categories and at suppliers, by securing knowledge sharing and facilitating relevant trainings.
• Carry out packaging and packing related projects with suppliers and within IKEA to support the business needs.
• Support Packing Line efficiency assessments & participate in efficiency projects.
• Participate and Provide inputs and recommendations on packaging solutions based on packing to project team.
• Contribute to continuous development of Packaging in IKEA.
• Propose new packaging solutions where needed.

Requirements:

• An excellent communicator both verbal and written in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and in a simple way.
• Ability to motivate and inspire suppliers and business development teams to improve Quality performance.
• Very good knowledge of Packaging/ Packing Material and technology.
• Knowledge about ergonomic regulations connected to handling of package.
• Knowledge to perform root cause analysis and initiate/follow up corrective actions
• Good knowledge of relevant IT tools and Solid Works, CAD, CAPE Pack etc.
• Genuinely interested in understanding the reality of production and continuous improvement.
• Result oriented with high energy and self driven way of working to deliver better products for the many people by working together in IKEA and with suppliers.
• Have a holistic view, always having Customer and end to end Supply Chain in mind.
• Capability to deliver results by involving and engaging people.
• Process oriented with good analytical skills and a structured approach.
• Have a sound judgment; being honest with high integrity, if necessary to take firm decisions for non compliance.
• Knowledge in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools would be an additional advantage.
• Knowledge of project management tools would be an additional advantage
